Doc and Q, year-round residents of Slab City and partners of 30 years run a cat sanctuary called Paw Town Cats from their home, pictured here. Doc is the computer wiz, having participated in writing the W3 standards, and has set-up wireless access to work remotely from their off the grid land. Q is the cat sanctuary manager, caring for 68 cats, protecting them from the aggressive Slab City dogs.
