Doc moved to Slab City with his partner of 30 years, Q, in 2007. He's a brilliant computer programmer, contributing to the W3 standard as well as other open source code. He says he has a direct line of communication with one of the Google founders. Setting up a wireless infrastructure in off the grid desert land is no small feat. He and Q have a 501c3 called Paw Town Cats to help fund their cat sanctuary.
