Jimmy Ray Silva lives in Slab City with his wife Windi, a former Army soldier who suffers from PTSD . Jimmy bought a trailer for his wife to live across the street from him since she needs a lot of emotional space as she recovers. It is unusually common to meet residents who have served in the US military - and ironic as Slab City is an abandoned military base turned squatter community.
